Thanks Scooter, Hopefully this posts correctly since I'm new to the board.
I tend to agree with you that they are painted from the factory, although I'm still not sure. I emailed an ebay posting for a fender and the response was the original fender, and never been painted. From what I can see, the darker silver/gray we both have of the fender appears too dark for stock colors if they where molded in that color. I have a honda date code on the bottom which I believe is a honda number, I have to verify that. I still think they are painted from the factory. Any others agree or disagree? I'll copy a previous posting on the colors of the tank and side panels that are commonly questioned, but the fenders are not for some reason. Perhaps my whole bike has been repainted to the lighter silver and blue, if so, they did a heck of a good job.
- Referance a previous posting - What is the name of the Silver Color paint on the TL125 K1 tank? The Tahitian Red and Candy Saphire Blue are available at Color-Rite.com
I have a brochure for a k1 and a k2 both say metallic silver. That said I have a 74 tl125k1 with original paint and a 69 z50ak1 with original paint, and the silver is identical. The brochure for the z50 calls it "Cloud Silver" and was used on the gas tank and wheels.I also have heard that PPG has a "Honda Silver",paint code 37554, but have never verified it.Also heard that they have the blue as code 33692. Good luck and let the rest of us know what you find out.
